Language Teacher Assistant

We are seeking two motivated and dependable Part-Time Language Teacher Assistants to support our language education program. This position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week, with full-time hours during Summer Break.
The incumbents will work closely with children ranging from birth to 12 years of age, assisting with daily activities, language learning, classroom support, and age-appropriate educational experiences. Incumbents should enjoy working with children, demonstrate patience and professionalism, and be committed to supporting the development and preservation of language and culture.
The Language Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting Language Teachers in planning, preparing, and conducting language lessons, classroom activities, and conducting childcare services. The Language Teacher Assistant will assist the Language Teachers with the planning and coordination of classroom activities, outdoor activities, field trips, and family engagement events. All activities surrounding language immersion are to enhance the child's development and fluency of the Keres language and culture.
The Language Teacher Assistant will ultimately provide culturally relevant, quality childcare services for children aged 8 weeks to 13 years of age, in accordance with Departmental, Federal & Tribal standards, regulations and laws.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be an enrolled tribal member of Santo Domingo Pueblo
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; with a minimum of 1 year experience as a childcare provider (care giver) and or teaching; and must obtain CDA within reasonable time.
- Highly motivated to learn and speak Keres.
- Experience and knowledge in Kewa culture and proper protocols.
- Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification and complete all required Health and Safety Training within 3 months of hire.
- Valid driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
- Must be able to pass a background check and a new hire drug screening.
