Job Title

Develop, present, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for student initials and annual reviews in accordance with IDEA. Provide instructional support and consultation to regular education teachers to facilitate student success in achieving IEP goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Complies with the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession; upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives, regulations, GISD school board policies, as well as local, state and federal regulations. All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and computer security regulations. Meets the established teacher competencies for level of licensure held. (e.g. Level 1, 2, or
3) Follows National Association for the Education of Young Children's Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs serving children from birth through eight years old Adheres to the New Mexico Pre-K Program Standards, the PreK Curriculum Policy Brief, the PreK Lesson Plan Form, the NM Pre-K Essential Indicators with Rubrics, and the Statement of Assurances signed by the district Superintendent Develop and Implement IEPs:
Create and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for student initials and annual reviews in compliance with IDEA. Collaborate with Stakeholders:
Work with parents, teachers, and specialists to gather input and ensure comprehensive support for students. Set Goals and Objectives:
Define measurable and achievable goals for each student, including short-term objectives. Provide Services and Supports:
Identify and coordinate special education services, related services, and necessary accommodations/modifications. Monitor Progress:
Establish and maintain progress monitoring systems to track student achievement of IEP goals. Conduct IEP Meetings:
Facilitate IEP meetings, review and finalize plans, and ensure all team members are informed and in agreement. Support Regular Education Teachers:
Offer instructional support, resources, and regular consultations to general education teachers to help them support students in achieving their IEP goals. Communicate with Parents:
Provide regular updates on student progress and schedule periodic reviews and revisions of IEPs as needed. Implements an instructional program which meets the total development needs of children based on IEP goals (e.g. physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs) and includes health care, nutrition, safety, and multicultural sensitivity. Assists in planning and implementing parent training and events such as "Literacy Night", "Family Math Night", "Science Night", etc.

Attends scheduled parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development training, etc. Locates or develops appropriate learning materials. Supervises students while on site or on field trip(s). Displays a desire and enthusiasm for working with young children. Uses time effectively; is punctual and has good attendance. Works with all children and their exceptionalities Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) in Early Childhood or Special Education NM New Mexico Teaching License;
Early Childhood Education, Birth-Grade Three or Special Education Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years teaching experience in a PreK classroom/Early Childhood classroom preferred CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS New Mexico Teaching License;
Early Childhood Education, Birth-Grade Three License New Mexico Special Education License, preferred
