Overview
Industrial Electrical Journeyman – This position is responsible for performing various job tasks on hazardous and non-hazardous waste sites in the Questa, NM area. Work on hazardous waste sites may involve exposure to lead, PCBs, H2S, arsenic, and other metals, chemicals, and conditions. Tasks involve manual labor in various weather conditions.
Full Time Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour plus overtime per state law, travel pay and per diem per company policy. Company benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, sick pay per state law, 401k. This position will be assigned to a project in Questa, NM. To be considered for future projects, candidates must be open to sustained project-based travel within the US.
Project locations will vary depending on the assignment. Candidates can reside anywhere within the US.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
- Per diem / living allowance and trips home.
- Subject to a background check & physical/drug screen.
- Must be able to wear PPE when needed.
- Schedule M-F, occasional Saturdays.

Specific job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to test electrical circuits, fuses, and transformers.
- Inspection of electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Use of multi-meter and amp probe and other diagnostic equipment.
- Familiar with 480 volt motors and pumps.
- Ability to troubleshoot motor control circuits.
- Knowledge of AC/DC Theory, Ohm’s law, and Transformation.
- Able to read and comprehend electrical design drawings and schematics.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Apprised of revisions to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and New Mexico Electrical building codes.
- Understanding/Use of Lockout Tagout Tryout procedures and documentation.
- Able to bend conduit.
- Control and Monitor Instrumentation, Allen Bradley/Schneider (PLC).
- Medium Voltage Switchgear (4160V) or equivalent.
- VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) basics and understanding.
- 1-Phase and 3-Phase AC motor (Well Pump) operation.
- Outdoor/Remote mobile AC generator setup and operation.
- Generator, battery, inverter, solar, and backup power systems.

Physical demands commonly associated with this job include:
- Most work is performed while standing or walking.
- Capability to work under physical stress conditions such as heat and cold during various weather conditions and long workdays.
- Frequent and prolonged use of respiratory equipment (i.e., half-face, full-face, SCBA).
- Wear Level C and D PPE;
