Our client a major upstream company is seeking for Turbine Technician to work within their facilities located in Midland, TX / Carlsbad, NM on a 2-year contract Position Summary Our client, a major upstream company, is seeking a Gas Turbine Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas turbine engines, centrifugal gas compressors, generators, and related auxiliary equipment at facilities in Midland, TX and Carlsbad, NM.
This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system components while ensuring compliance with company safety standards.
Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot gas turbines, compressors, generators, and associated equipment. Inspect engines and components, verify operating conditions, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system failures using standard testing equipment. Test, maintain, and repair electrical circuits, wiring, switches, batteries, alarms, indicators, and control/monitoring systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, charts, and manufacturer documentation.
Collaborate with technicians and engineers to resolve complex equipment issues and improve reliability. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, spare parts inventories, and CMMS documentation. Support troubleshooting activities on faulted gas turbines, compressors, and auxiliary systems. Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience as a Gas Turbine Technician, Compressor Technician, or similar maintenance role preferred. Experience in oil & gas production, gathering, midstream, or plant operations preferred. Working knowledge of gas turbine systems, compressors, generators, DCS/control systems, and hydraulic equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems preferred.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Good math skills and attention to detail.
