Education and Experience- Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- 2+ years of direct work experience with at least 2 years at a nuclear facility.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing chemical dose consequence analyses.
- A Master’s Degree or PhD in Physics, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License from an accredited examination.
- 5+ years of related work experience, with at least 2 years at a nuclear facility.
- Experience at a Part 70 licensee.
- Design Safety Basis Development, HAZOP, and Documented Safety Analysis experience.
This position is responsible for facility design safety basis activities with a focus on process hazard analyses and chemical dose consequence analyses. The role works in Engineering and Integrated Safety Analysis, interfaces with employees and managers at all levels, and provides engineering support in calculations, walkdowns, and general configuration management control.
Job Details- Work Location:
Eunice, NM - Hybrid (75/25) - Work Schedule:
Professional schedule with minimal night/weekend support; occasional nights and weekend work, plus call‑outs as needed. - Travel: 10% of the time or less.
- Security Clearance:
Controlled Access Area (CAA) access with an L or Q level clearance required. - Emergency Response: ERO duty may be required, including 24/7 on‑call during a designated team duty week.
- Work Environment:
Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. The role operates in a professional office setting using standard office equipment.
- Independently perform analysis and design activities for facility operations and future projects.
- Conduct chemical dose consequence calculations using modeling software and perform independent design reviews.
- Develop analyses and designs supporting assigned facility and engineering programs.
- Verify assumptions and adequacy of calculations during independent design reviews.
- Provide technical support for design, installation, and maintenance of site projects to ensure equipment operates per specifications.
- Communicate effectively with other organizations to resolve technical issues and implement engineering outputs.
- Apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigor in all analyses and assigned tasks.

CompensationStarting at: $104,288 - $148,136 per year, dependent on candidate qualifications.
