As a Process Engineer for the plant, you will play a key role in continuously improving the workflows, reducing the costs of the processes in charge through the analysis of process variables, ensuring industrial safety (Persons and equipment) and the implementation of new technologies that help improve production processes in the division. In this role, you will create, analyze, know, control and/or modify the production processes in order to determine the optimal conditions of the same, through continuous improvement, interacting with key areas such as maintenance, engineering, development, manufacturing, product, quality, planning, etc.,

resulting in the satisfaction of internal and external customers.

The impact you will have in this role

• Identify, initiate and lead projects to improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity and productivity through process engineering and continuous improvement methods.
• Improve process capacity in manufacturing equipment using various tools, including work standardization, level reviews and kaizen events.
• Resolve process defects and variations, perform root cause analysis, DOEs, apply systematic problem-solving techniques and implement sustainable solutions.
• Participate in daily operations to resolve equipment downtime issues, ensure quality and productivity, and meet service objectives.
• Improve the plant's PPU in automated conversion processes to reinforce and sustain the production of high-quality products and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Perform documentation, including work instructions, process standards and technical documents.
• Serve as a mentor or trainer for technical resources.
• You must be willing to provide support to manufacturing operations 24/7.

The skills and experience we are looking for

To prepare your path to success in this position from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who have:

• Degree in engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related) completed.
• 1 to 3 years of experience focused on processes.
• Knowledge and mastery of Statistics, DOEs, PPU and AMEF.
• Intermediate/Advanced English (Listening, speaking and reading).

Additional experience and skills that could help you be even more successful in this role:

• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in equipment, systems, materials, processes and procedures to solve manufacturing problems.
• Experience in statistical analysis of process data and in the establishment of process control standards.
• Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics and designed experiments are beneficial.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in concepts and methods of equipment reliability.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and remain flexible in the face of change.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, SCEP, Process Studio and Outlook.
• Demonstrated experience in project leadership, teamwork and communication skills.

Work location:

This role follows a model of on-site work, requiring the employee to work at the Tape Plant of the 3M site in San Luis Potosí.

Travel: 10% (national/international).
