Position: SECURITY ASSISTANT with Security Clearance
Location: Holloman Air Force Base

Duties (CONT. From SUMMARY Above)- - Defense Incident-based Report System (DIBRS). Protect electronic information and safeguard sensitive law enforcement information. Ensures proper release protocols are adhered to for dissemination of all sensitive information. DUTIES- 1. Manages Reports and Analysis Programs. Inputs all traffic citations, accidents and incident/complaints reports into the Security Forces Management System.
2. Manages Indexing Compliance Program:
Provide compliance oversight for all incident reports/investigations, database, and NICS-entry requirements.
3. Manages Installation Air Force Justice Information System (AFJIS). Creates and manages all user accounts for Security Forces, AFOSI, and Staff Judge Advocate accounts
4. Conducts criminal history background checks for other agencies. Directly supports Installation Information/Personnel Security Program by conducting background checks as requested by base units for personal security actions.
5. Liaison for all civilian criminal arrest/justice files requests. Single point of contact for all criminal justice related files/arrest records requests with all other law enforcement agencies. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
* This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for the Security Clerical and Assistance Series, 0086. SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes practical knowledge of specialized security methods, rules, regulations, principles, and procedures to resolve a wide range of problems and perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard security assignments such as determining the kinds of information and supporting data required, and criteria to be applied, in clearance adjudication processes;

evaluating derogatory information to determining if a SIF must be established; and ensuring that the SIF includes all supporting data required to complete adjudication determinations. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in
-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

(KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of law enforcement operations, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices.
2. Knowledge of NCIC, LEEP, and other state law enforcement computer network systems used for tracking and submitting criminal dispositions.
3. Knowledgeable of electronic information and safeguarding practices and proper release protocol.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
