Duties
* Enforce and implement the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan, the Conservation Law Enforcement Plan, the Endangered Species Biological Opinion and other applicable programs, statutes and regulations
* Provide input for the development of the Schedule 75 QLPR MPED budgeting strategy.
* Work on short and long-range plans for the installation as they relate to enforcement operations and investigation
* Prepare, review, and approve conservation law enforcement investigations and writes technical reports of investigative findings.
* Plan and execute life cycle replacement of critical law enforcement equipment within budgetary constraints.
* Coordinate with installation, local, State and Federal law enforcement authorities liaison matters related to conservation law enforcement activities.
* Prepares reviews and approve conservation law enforcement investigations and writes technical reports of investigative findings.
* Enforces Federal, State, and installation fish and wildlife regulations.
* Conduct community relations activities, briefings, tours and other functions, which enhance appreciation of the wildlife and promotes a positive attitude and public awareness of fish, game laws and regulations.
* Coordinate with local Natural Resources office to ensure that Conservation Law Enforcement activities are fully integrated within the Installation Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) and Installation Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP). Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a currently approved waiver/exemption from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
* Successfully pass training, certification, and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations, or statutes. (cont.)
* To include, but not limited to weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements
* Successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation.
* Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
* This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug
- Free Federal Workplace Program.
* Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
* Hours of work are subject to irregular and rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56.
* Successfully graduated from the USAMPS Conservation Law Enforcement Officer Course within one year of assignment.
* This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
* Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes planning, coordinating, and conducting the enforcement program of Federal, State, and installation fish and wildlife regulations; collecting evidence into violations of Federal fish and wildlife and environmental laws, enforcing limits of land boundaries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
