¿ home is located on sixteen picturesque acres in truth or consequences, new mexico. It provides long-term and skilled nursing services for honorably discharged veterans, their spouses, or parents of veterans killed in combat action. The facility has 131 nursing home, skilled-nursing living beds. Services for residents are provided 24/7, focusing on maintaining or improving their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being under a personalized plan of care developed by licensed health professionals

¿ compensation/resident investigator. The compliance supervisor also serves as the lead for paralegal-supported lawsuits and compliance-related legal matters, playing a critical role in protecting resident rights, supporting regulatory readiness, and upholding the facility
¿ s mission of serving veterans with dignity and respect.
how does it get done?
compliance oversight & program management
supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the lead compliance officer and the workers
¿ compensation/resident investigator.
oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the facility
¿ s compliance program.
ensure compliance with long-term care regulations, including those applicable to veterans
¿ homes, resident rights, health and safety, and reporting requirements.
monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to policies, procedures, and operational practices.
lead compliance audits, inspections, and internal reviews; track corrective action plans and ensure timely resolution.
investigations, reporting & litigation support
provide oversight and direction for workers
¿ compensation investigations and resident-related investigations, including incidents, allegations, and complaints.
review investigative findings, reports, and recommendations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
serve as the lead compliance representative for all paralegal-supported lawsuits, claims, and compliance-related legal matters involving the facility.
coordinate litigation support activities, including document collection, preservation, review, and response to subpoenas, grievances, and legal requests.
act as the primary liaison between legal counsel, paralegal staff, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
ensure timely and accurate reporting to oversight bodies, regulatory agencies, and leadership as required.
support legal counsel during audits, hearings, depositions, regulatory proceedings, and administrative actions.
ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive resident, employee, and veterans

policy development & training
oversee the development, maintenance, and enforcement of compliance-related policies, procedures, and protocols.
collaborate with department leadership to ensure policies align with regulatory standards and operational needs.
support compliance training and education initiatives to promote ethical conduct, regulatory awareness, and resident
protection.
quality improvement & risk management
identify compliance risks, trends, and systemic issues; recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.
participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
support organizational efforts to reduce risk, improve outcomes, and enhance resident care and safety.
leadership & collaboration
provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight for assigned compliance staff.
serve as a compliance resource to executive leadership, managers, and staff.
promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the facility.
