MISSION & VISION STATEMENT:

The Kewa Pueblo Health Corporation (KPHC) is established for the purposes of carrying out the vision and mission of the Santo Domingo Health Center (SDHC). The MISSION of KPHC is: “ENSURING HEALTH & WELLNESS THROUGH EXCELLENCE IN HEALTHCARE WITH RESPECT FOR CULTURE” and the VISION OF KPHC is: “HEALTHY PEOPLE, HEALTHY COMMUNITY, and HEALTHY LIFESTYLE”.

POSITION

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for the overall administration and programmatic oversight of all programs provided by the KPHC. This position assures the highest quality of care to the community of Santo Domingo Pueblo. The CEO uses executive authority to make operational decisions, recommend new policies and procedures and/or amendments to existing policies to the Health Board. The CEO collaborates closely with the KPHC Board of Directors in the management and direction of the Corporation’s programs and services;

including the SDHC.

PERFOMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

In performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees of the Kewa Pueblo Health Center are expected to conform to the following:

  • Uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent.
  • Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry.
  • Interact in an honest, trustworthy and dependable manner with patients, employees and vendors.
  • Possess and maintain an environment of cultural awareness and sensitivity enabling the facility to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.
  • Take responsibility for all day-to-day operations of the facility and health services provided to the patients.
  • Comply with all Kewa Pueblo Health Corporation and Santo Domingo Health Center policies and procedures.
  • Consistently maintains professional and ethical standards adhering to all KPHC Policies, Compliance Standards and HIPAA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises the executive staff, completes staff performance evaluations, performs job training and orientation, uses employee diagnostic instruments for performance and improvements, and evaluates and implements performance management systems specific to departmental issues. Includes assignment of duties, work schedules, leave requests, and monitoring of employee work standards.
  • Coordinates staff development and ensures compliance with continuing education requirements for all KPHC employees while continuously focusing on the needs of the Corporation’s programs and services.
  • Implements project goals and objectives, reviews implementation plans to determine relevance and appropriateness of goals and objectives. Reviews project activities to determine if activities lead to expected outcomes and programmatic accountability to patients and clients.
  • Develops and maintains an effective patient grievance system and external appeals process, which assures timely follow-up and resolution. Provides for the regular evaluation of services and ensures results are reported to staff and Board. Monitors and revises policy implementation which supports the rights of patients.
