Responsibilities
Under general supervision, design and implement assigned projects supporting the generation of customized maps and geographic analysis reports; obtain, enter, maintain, and update data in the Town's Geographic Information System (GIS) and Asset Mapping/Management system using plats, construction documents, easements, maps, and fieldwork; gather and provide geographic information to Town departments, outside agencies, and the public; perform E911 addressing and general Information Technology (IT) duties related to GIS product support and related software and hardware support.

Education and/or Experience- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geographic information systems (GIS), computer science, geography, planning, or cartography.
- ESRI, Inc./ArcGIS Software experience required (editing, creating shape files, map production, etc.).
- Principles and practices of geographic information systems including hardware and software applications and information analysis techniques.
- Basic principles and practices of urban planning, geography, and cartography.
- Methods and techniques of drafting and map creation.
- Principles of record management and file naming conventions pertaining to hard copies and digital copies of maps, plats, legal survey documents, and shapefile data.
- Understanding of modern office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers, tablets, copiers, large format scanners and printers, engineering and architectural measurements/scales, calculator, etc.
- Understanding of basic Asset Management and Asset Mapping principles.
- Basic Information Technology (IT)/Computer troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe Office products (WORD, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD).
- Principles and practices of GIS Software applications (especially ESRI, Inc. products).
