Summary Of Responsibilities

Site/Local:
Support the Site Procurement Organization in developing a professional Procurement Function and assume all commercial aspects of the acquisition of goods and services within a given category of spend for the UUSA operation. Work with relevant customers, stakeholders, and the Procurement Manager to develop and execute customer‑aligned, integrated category plans.

Global:
Develop and deliver long‑term sustainable value from UUSA’s external spend within defined categories, in alignment with Group plans. As part of a global category team, actively contribute to the development and execution of category plans and associated projects to derive optimal value from the supply chain and disseminate best practice within URENCO.

Education And Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of procurement experience, including 3+ years of supplier management and 2+ years of strategic procurement
  • Must maintain a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) Certification or obtain and maintain a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Certification or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in procurement/supply chain management

  • Work Schedule:

    9/80 professional schedule; some nights or weekends may be required
  • Travel Required:

    10% of the time or less as needed
  • Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and a Level L or Q security clearance
  • Emergency Response Requirements:
    Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required, including 24/7 on‑call during the designated team duty week

Work Environment:
Radiological exposure expectations < 100 mrem/yr in general office and plant production areas. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Primary Functions Sourcing/Category Management
  • Closely liaise with Group Category Management Teams to share best practices and ensure UUSA plans align with Group plans
  • Lead the development of medium‑ to long‑term UUSA Category Plans, clarifying vision, strategy, and implementation to deliver value (lower costs, mitigated risk, supply assurance)
  • Complete projects in line with strategic alliances to drive optimal value in supplier deliveries based on program, schedule, and budget
  • Deliver the annual Procurement Value Plan through category plan projects and support business partner‑nominated projects to meet site needs
  • Share knowledge of new and modified products/services with stakeholders
  • Anticipate risks and manage them on behalf of URENCO and its interests
  • Lead supplier visits and surveillances to evaluate potential and existing suppliers and ensure compliance with URENCO procedures and policies
  • Advise on bid evaluation approach to validate supplier selection
  • Apply best practices to promote first‑rate procurement and supply chain practices
  • Cover all other commercial aspects of goods and services acquisitions within the specified category of spend for UUSA
Supplier Management
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage internal relationships to optimize URENCO’s external legal, business, and financial positions
  • Lead the development and maintenance of preferred supplier lists
  • Apply measurable supplier management methods and performance metrics to high‑risk and/or high‑value suppliers through supplier management programs
  • Lead supplier negotiations and consult with operating and buying sites to leverage URENCO’s global demand
  • Effectively resolve supplier issues—relationship, quality, cost, and delivery—by implementing corrective actions and improvements
Contract Management
  • Lead the development, review, negotiation, execution, management, and documentation of significant, complex contracts and amendments to drive value
  • Plan supplier relationships and contract management to ensure contractual compliance and expected value delivery throughout the lifecycle
  • Continuously improve contract value to capture optimal, sustainable cost savings
  • Manage commercial negotiations with suppliers and liaise with stakeholders and legal to secure favorable terms and mitigate risk
