Overview
Electrical Technician - Harness Assembly – Albuquerque, New Mexico
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician with a strong background in harness assembly to support the production and integration of electrical systems for our Aerospace client. This role is hands-on and requires a deep understanding of electrical wiring, cable harness fabrication, and aerospace-grade standards.
Job Purpose- Harness Fabrication & Assembly – Build, route, and install electrical harnesses, ensuring proper terminations, crimping, and soldering according to aerospace standards.
- Wiring & Integration – Assist in the assembly and installation of electrical components, including connectors, circuit boards, and avionics systems.
- Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation – Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate builds.
- Testing & Troubleshooting – Perform continuity tests, insulation resistance checks, and troubleshooting to verify harness integrity.
- Quality Control & Compliance – Ensure all work meets industry and company quality standards, adhering to safety and aerospace regulations.
- Collaboration – Work closely with engineers and other technicians to support system integration and problem-solving efforts.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical harness assembly, wiring, or related field
- Proficiency in crimping, soldering, and connector assembly
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Strong understanding of cable routing, strain relief, and aerospace/automotive wiring standards
- Hands-on experience using tools such as wire strippers, heat shrink tubing, and torque wrenches
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in aerospace, aviation, or high-tech manufacturing
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or similar (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, continuity testers, etc.)
- Ability to adapt and troubleshoot in a dynamic R&D environment
