Exciting Opportunity for Locum Nurse Practitioners in General Medicine NM

Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving our nation's Veterans? Join our dynamic team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in General Medicine, providing essential assessments across New Mexico.

This role offers the flexibility of PRN work with meaningful impact, supporting Veterans through Compensation and Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Be part of a reputable organization committed to honoring those who served, while enjoying competitive pay and professional growth.

Required Skills:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of New Mexico
  • Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics
  • Strong interviewing skills with the ability to conduct interview-based assessments
  • Knowledge of range of motion testing and muscle strength evaluation
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently within your own office within a 50-mile radius
  • Reliable access to a private office setting for exam procedures
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations
  • Familiarity with Veterans Affairs (VA) or government-related medical assessments
  • Certification in relevant specialties or additional qualifications in general medicine
  • Experience with report writing and administrative follow-up
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner with current credentials in New Mexico
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
  • Previous exposure to VA or military healthcare evaluations is advantageous
Other Requirements:
  • Own or have access to an individual office location within the specified regions (Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, Grants)
  • Ability to commit to ½ or full-day shifts on a PRN basis
  • Willingness to complete all required training and initial exams to qualify for a bonus
  • Must adhere to confidentiality and professional standards applicable to federal evaluations
  • Travel and related costs are included in the rates; no additional reimbursements or certifications are provided prior to start
