Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner (Contract)
Location: Shiprock, New Mexico
Position Type: Contract
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Base + Option Period)
A regional medical center in Shiprock, New Mexico is seeking one (1) Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary and internal medicine care in an outpatient and hospital-based clinical environment.
This role offers the opportunity to deliver patient-centered care to a diverse population while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams. The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions in an internal medicine setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary and internal medicine care to adult patients
- Conduct patient assessments, examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
- Develop and implement treatment and care management plans
- Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice
- Provide preventive care and health education
- Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements
- Chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular conditions)
- Preventive and wellness care
- Acute illness treatment
- Medication management
- Patient education and care coordination
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) with Internal Medicine or Adult-Gerontology focus
- Active unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in any U.S. state
- DEA registration
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to obtain facility credentialing and privileging
- Experience practicing in internal medicine or primary care settings
- Experience working in hospital or outpatient clinic environments
- Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings
- Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary care teams
- Hospital-based internal medicine department
- Outpatient clinical care
- Collaborative multidisciplinary medical team
- One (1) Nurse Practitioner needed
- 12-month contract opportunity
