Summary:
Under the direction of the Nursing Director, works with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as a part of the management/leadership team to provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of unit staff in designated service area(s). May provide direct patient care.

Summary of Major Duties:
Provides clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety and direction of unit staff in designated service area. Ensures safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care of all patients in service area.
- Academic Preparation:
Degree from accredited academic nursing program (If a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO). Minimum ADN preparation. - Experience:
Minimum One year of nursing experience required. - Licensure:
State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required. - Specialty
Certifications:
Specialty Certifications in area of practice preferred. - Additional Requirements based upon area of service:
- CDS Inpatient - all departments require BLS Progressive
- Critical Care Units: ACLS
- Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS
- Pediatrics / PICU: PALS
- Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP
- Family Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; permanent charge requires ACLS in addition to others
- Pre-op / Operating Room / PACU: ACLS, PALS
- Oncology:
Chemotherapy certification
