Shiprock Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Shiprock, New Mexico
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (Clinic Hours)
Contract Length: Approximately 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)
Compensation: Starting at $40.00/hour (W-2) plus per diem

Position Summary

Shared Mission is seeking an experienced Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality outpatient nursing care at a federal healthcare facility in Shiprock, New Mexico. The Ambulatory RN will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary team members in a busy outpatient clinic.

This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who enjoy primary care, patient education, and serving rural and underserved communities.

Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and obtain complete medical histories and vital signs.
  • Provide direct nursing care in an ambulatory/outpatient clinic setting.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and prescribed treatments.
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations and clinical procedures.
  • Perform telephone triage and respond appropriately to patient concerns.
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care.
  • Review laboratory and diagnostic results as directed by providers.
  • Document all patient care accurately within the electronic health record.
  • Maintain compliance with federal policies, infection-control standards, and patient safety practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and ancillary staff.
