PositionSummary
As an Applebee’s Assistant Manager, you will oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring a positive guest experience while motivating the team and maintaining store standards. You will be responsible for staff scheduling, inventory management, training, and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines and achieve unit objectives.
- Cultivate a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's core values and beliefs.
- Respond promptly to verbal guest complaints and provide solutions.
- Prioritize guest contact by completing required table visits as established by Flynn Applebee's standards.
- Maintain departmental inventory levels.
- Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks.
- Schedule employees to meet sales demands effectively.
- Maintain effective safety and security programs.
- Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
- Perform routine maintenance and report necessary repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
- Promote quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates.
- Promote Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers.
- Maintain a trained staff through orientation, training sessions, employee meetings, and training systems.
- Participate in the constant development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations.
- Assess employee efficiency, provide fair feedback regularly, and work with employees on development areas.
- Monitor acceptable employee performance and document situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action.
- Assure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Control costs in assigned department.
- Comply with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Drive bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as requested by AD/GM and ensure completion.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
- Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards.
- Provide a role model for managers and employees.
- Develop proficiency in all store-related technology.
- Be willing and able to work in all positions and assist as needed (cooking, expo, seating guests, bartending).
- Use the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
- At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications is a plus.
- Work various shifts, including weekends.
- Stand and move comfortably for up to ten (10) hours in length.
- Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.
- Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
