Position Overview
Join Entrust's security solutions team as a Sales Executive – Data Security. The role focuses on the entire portfolio of Cryptographic Data Security solutions, including HSMs, PKI and Key Management solutions in North America with a primary sales focus in Central US. The Sales Executive will build a pipeline of new business opportunities, manage and close opportunities, and develop relationships with decision makers to grow business within designated Enterprise Territory Accounts.
Responsibilities- Drive new business development sales (70% of effort), acting as a regional selling expert for the defined solutions portfolio.
- Prospect daily, leveraging referrals and collaborating with other Sales Executives for cross‑sale opportunities and large account strategies.
- Sell complex enterprise data security solutions and deliver the value proposition through multiple communication channels.
- Listen to and interpret customer requirements, build knowledge of challenges, and propose technical solutions that directly address customer needs.
- Partner with Technical Sales Consultants to provide product presentations and demos.
- Develop relationships with decision makers (including C‑level) and maintain a deep understanding of customer profiles to influence digital security strategy.
- Drive and close direct sales to meet quarterly and annual territory commitments, managing the full end‑to‑end sales lifecycle.
- Address and overcome prospect objections.
- Leverage channel relationships to expand and open accounts.
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge of competitive offerings and proposal development.
- Document all contacts accurately and maintain timely follow‑up with customers.
- Collaborate with Technical Sales Consultants on business impact modeling tools.
- Provide competitive market intelligence and voice‑of‑customer data to product marketing and management.
- Execute precise forecasting and financial planning using the CRM system.
- Create dynamic account and close plans, including vertical opportunities within designated accounts.
- Develop annual/quarterly business plans and reviews to track performance.
- Act as a mentor and resource within the Sales team.
- Minimum 5 years of experience selling IT/Data Security products/services.
- Consistent quota over‑achievement and proven success in prospecting, building pipelines, and closing opportunities.
- Strong understanding of the sales cycle, macro and micro trends, and post‑sales follow‑up.
- Strong customer relationship management at all levels.
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn Entrust’s products rapidly.
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRMs to maintain call records and account status.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Residency within the territory/region with ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned area.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Experience selling software manager/cloud‑based services in information security or IT.
- Experience selling HSMs and/or Data Security solutions.
- Formal sales training (referral, territory planning, presentation skills, solution selling).
- BA or BS degree.
The anticipated starting base pay is $93,699–$137,426 per year (primary location) with additional variable pay based on sales targets and business objectives.
