Associate Territory Sales Engineer

Cognex is a leading provider of vision systems for manufacturing automation. The Territory Sales Engineer will lead sales initiatives and customer engagement within a defined geographical territory.

• Achieve defined sales quota for current and prospective customers in the territory.
• Execute activities-based business objectives, including customer visits, new customer acquisition, and new product introduction.
• Prospect new sales opportunities via cold and warm leads, cultivate leads, and schedule customer site visits to obtain purchase orders.
• Travel to customer manufacturing facilities to demonstrate Cognex products, review applications, and provide solution recommendations.
• Capture competitive data and continuously update project details in the CRM system.
• Assist at trade shows and marketing events to generate qualified leads and support other Cognex sales teams by collecting information on customers’ complex vision applications beyond the scope of assigned  Vision Sensor products.

• Ability to solve technical problems and quickly learn new automation technology.
• Independent work in a field sales environment with limited overnight travel (up to 20%).
• Willingness to relocate and pursue career ambition outside familiar surroundings.
• Good listening and communication skills.

• PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications.

• Minimum two years of sales training and field experience in a metric‑driven sales environment.
• 4‑year college degree from a reputable university (STEM major helpful but not required).
• Must be able to visit multiple accounts in a day using own means of transport.
