Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Community

Location: Little Rock, AR / Shreveport, LA – Field – United States

Position Summary

The Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field‑based role that executes the BMS aspiration to deliver impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs). The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines, engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (CX), and builds strong credibility within the cardiovascular community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Promotion: Promote approved indications of BMS products within assigned territory, meet or exceed sales targets, create demand by articulating clinical rationale, and prepare territory and account plans. Utilize tools such as SOPHIA for insights and call planning.
  • Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue: Demonstrate scientific expertise using approved resources, conduct in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch & learns), organize speaker programs, maintain expertise on emerging data, and provide real‑time medical support through Medical on Call.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Proactively collaborate with field teams to ensure a superior CX for HCPs, share relevant insights with stakeholders, and comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) or preferred 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales, MSL, or clinical roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Demonstrated experience building credibility with key customers and HCPs, and a track record of exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong account management, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional teamwork skills.
  • Preferred experience in cardiovascular therapeutics.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a customer‑centric, patient‑centric mindset.

Additional Driver Requirements

Position requires operation of a company‑provided vehicle. Employment contingent upon meeting “Qualified Driver” criteria: at least 21 years old, valid driver’s license in good standing, and acceptable driving risk level approved by BMS.

Compensation Overview

Field – United States – $124,090 - $150,370 (annually, base salary). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available.
