Position Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) plays a critical role in BMS’ customer model, driving demand for BMS cardiovascular medicines within a defined territory. The role engages healthcare professionals (HCPs) with a differentiated customer experience, leveraging scientific dialogue and collaboration across functions to ensure adoption of BMS products for appropriate patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Promotion
    • Promote approved indications of BMS products to exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
    • Create demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use.
    • Maintain up‑to‑date scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
    • Prepare and execute comprehensive territory and account plans.
    • Utilize tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans.
  • Scientific Dialogue
    • Demonstrate scientific expertise and communicate medical information accurately to HCPs.
    • Conduct in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discuss product information consistent with label.
    • Organize external speaker programs, scheduling and logistics for approved speakers.
    • Keep expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
    • Engage real‑time medical support through Medical On Call.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate proactively with field teams to provide the best customer experience.
    • Share insights and information with internal stakeholders to improve customer service.
    • Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
  • Field‑Based: spend majority of time traveling to visit external customers.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Proven ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to physicians.
  • Track record of building credibility with key customers and driving superior sales performance.
  • Experience in cardiovascular therapeutics (preferred).
  • Strong account‑management skills, problem‑solving mindset, and ability to work cross‑functionally.
  • Customer‑centric mindset with a passion for patient‑centric science and scientific agility.
  • Analytical skillset: ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences; use CE^3 for data‑driven insights.
  • Digital agility: comfortable using digital communication channels and CRM tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Integrity and good judgment in compliance with BMS policies and procedures.
Driver and Vehicle Requirements

Position requires use of a company‑provided vehicle. Candidates must meet the “Qualified Driver” criteria: at least 21years old, valid driver’s license in good standing, and an acceptable driving risk level determined by the company.

Compensation Overview

Field – United States – US: $134,390 – $162,843 per year. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final pay will be based on demonstrated experience.
