Position Summary
The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field‑based role within the Cardiovascular specialty, responsible for driving demand for BMS medicines in their portfolio across the patient care continuum. The TAS engages HCPs through scientific dialogue, builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community physicians, and collaborates across BMS functions to deliver a differentiated Customer Experience. This role prioritizes safe and appropriate product use while meeting business targets and exemplifying BMS values.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Promotion – promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner; create demand by articulating balanced clinical and scientific rationale.
- Scientific Expertise – maintain and grow expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas; conduct in‑office presentations and organize external speaker programs; engage real‑time medical support.
- Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue – present information to HCPs using approved resources, ensuring medical accuracy and consistency with labeling.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – collaborate with other field teams and share insights internally to enhance the Customer Experience; comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
- Field Presence – spend 100% time in the field with external customers, conducting proactive account planning and territory management.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to physicians; demonstrated experience building credibility with key customers.
- Experience in cardiovascular preferred; strong account management skills and a proven sales performance track record.
- Ability to work effectively cross‑functionally with a positive team mindset and can‑do attitude.
- Proficient in using technology (CRM, CE³, Medical on Call) and data analysis for prescribing patterns and market trends.
- Customer/commercial mindset – drive business results and cultivate credibility with customers across the patient care journey.
- Patient Centricity – understand the patient journey, maintain a patient‑focused mindset.
- Scientific Agility – excellent communication and presentation skills, strong learning mindset, stay current with latest data.
- Analytical Capability – analyze data (prescribing patterns, market trends), segment HCPs, generate insights using CE³ for dynamic call planning.
- Digital Agility – effectively use technology, digital channels, and software tools for communication and data management.
- Teamwork/Enterprise Mindset – strong business acumen, collaborative attitude, integrity and good judgment.
Field – United States: $134,390 – $162,843 (base). Additional incentive cash and stock are available based on eligibility and performance.
