Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Specialty – Pennsylvania Central

Position Summary:

The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the Bio Pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs). The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines within the portfolio and engages HCPs through a differentiated Customer Experience, focusing on scientific dialogue and alignment with product labeling. The role builds and maintains strong credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians in private practice, medical groups, office staff, and other stakeholders as the primary point of contact.

The TAS works field‑based, spending much time engaging external customers while liaising with other BMS functions to deliver a high‑quality Customer Experience.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Promotion

  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating balanced clinical and scientific rationale for use.
  • Maintain and grow scientific expertise on all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Use tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans; provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue

  • Demonstrate scientific expertise using approved resources, ensuring medical accuracy.
  • Deliver in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with label.
  • Organize external speaker programs, selecting speakers from approved list and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintain expertise on emerging data and engage real‑time medical support via Medical on Call.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate proactively with other field teams to maximize Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Share insights and information internally with stakeholders to improve customer service.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies governing conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.

  • Communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians serve patients.
  • Build and maintain credibility with key customers via a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Preferred:
    Cardiovascular experience.
  • Strong account management skills, selling competencies, and proven sales performance track record.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration and positive team mindset.

Must meet company driver requirements: at least 21 years of age, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving risk level per company policy.

Compensation Overview

Field - United States: $134,390 – $162,843

Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation decided based on demonstrated experience.
