Position Summary
The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Community (Field – United States, Central Valley, CA) plays a critical role in BMS’s customer model to drive adoption of BMS medicines. The TAS is field‑based, engaging health‑care providers (HCPs) with a differentiated customer experience through in‑depth scientific dialogue, building strong credibility with regional thought leaders, and collaborating across BMS functions to deliver a higher customer experience while ensuring safe and appropriate product use.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Promotion
:
Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets; creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale, maintains and grows scientific expertise, prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans, and uses tools such as SOPHIA to inform call plans and provide feedback for continuous improvement. - Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue

Demonstrates scientific expertise and uses approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs, conducts in‑office presentations, organizes external speaker programs, stays current on emerging data, and engages real‑time medical support through Medical on Call to answer technical inquiries. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
:
Proactively collaborates with other field teams and internal stakeholders to ensure the best customer experience, gathers and shares insights, and complies with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
- Proven experience building credibility with patients, office staff and key customers, and a customer‑centric mindset.
- Experience in cardiovascular preferred.
- Strong selling and promotional skills; proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Demonstrated account management skills, problem‑solving mentality, and an understanding of the patient journey.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong learning mindset, staying current with latest data.
- Analytical capability to interpret prescribing patterns, market trends and HCP preferences; ability to segment HCPs and use data to plan engagements.
- Digital agility: using technology, email, instant messaging, video conferencing, CE^3 and Medical on Call to communicate effectively.
- Teamwork, enterprise mindset, strong business acumen, integrity, and good judgment per BMS policies.
- Vehicle operation: qualified driver, 21+ years old, good standing driver’s license, acceptable driving risk level.
Field – United States: $124,090 – $150,370. The starting compensation range is for a full‑time employee and may include additional incentive cash and stock opportunities. Final individual compensation is determined by experience.
