The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field‑based role that drives demand for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) cardiovascular medicines. The TAS engages healthcare professionals (HCPs) with a differentiated customer experience, provides scientific dialogue, and collaborates cross‑functionally to enhance the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Promotion – Promote approved indications of BMS products, create demand, and meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Scientific Dialogue – Conduct in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch & learn), leverage approved scientific resources, and provide accurate product information consistent with labeling.
- External Speaker Programs – Select and schedule approved speakers, manage logistics, and maintain expertise on emerging data.
- Real‑time Support – Engage Medical on Call for urgent queries and complex technical inquiries.
- Cross‑functional Collaboration – Work with other field teams and internal stakeholders to gather and share insights for improved customer engagement.
- Advanced scientific degree or equivalent; 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales, medical science liaison, or related roles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey scientific data accurately.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or account‑management goals.
- Strong experience building credibility with key customers, office staff, and the broader customer influence network.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular therapeutics preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross‑functionally in a team environment.
- Qualified driver (21+ years, valid driver’s license, acceptable risk level) as the role requires use of a company‑provided vehicle.
- Customer/Commercial Mindset – Drive business results, identify, engage, and cultivate customer relationships.
- Account Management – Develop tailored engagement plans, customize communication, and achieve sales objectives.
- Patient Centricity – Understand the patient journey and maintain a patient‑focused approach.
- Scientific Agility – Stay current with data, analyze prescribing patterns, and use digital tools (e.g., CE^3, CRM) for insights.
- Analytical Capability – Interpret data related to product performance, patient preferences, and market trends.
- Digital Agility – Use email, instant messaging, video conferencing, and technology to maintain effective communication with HCPs.
- Teamwork – Demonstrate business acumen, learning agility, and collaborative mindset while adhering to BMS policies.
Field – United States: $124,090 – $150,370 (base salary). Eligible for additional incentive cash and stock opportunities. Final compensation determined by experience and performance.
