Position Summary
The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (Oncology) is a field‐based role that drives demand for Bristol Myers Squibb medicines within a defined territory or region. The TAM engages healthcare providers (HCPs) with a differentiated customer experience, providing scientific dialogue consistent with label and leveraging tools such as CE^3 to meet HCP needs while achieving sales targets and supporting overall business results.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Promotion – Promote approved indications of BMS products, create demand, articulate clinical rationale, and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue – Demonstrate scientific expertise, conduct in‑office presentations, organize external speaker programs, maintain knowledge of emerging data, and provide real‑time medical support.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Collaborate with field teams, share insights with stakeholders, and comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
- Advanced scientific degree or 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, or nurse.
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology and proven sales performance, meeting or exceeding goals.
- Strong account management, cross‑functional teamwork, and customer‑centric mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a passion for science and a strong learning mindset.
- Customer/commercial mindset with a drive for business results.
- Analytical capability: interpret prescribing patterns, market data, and HCP preferences.
- Technological agility: effective use of CE^3, CRM tools, and medical on‑call technology.
- Teamwork and enterprise mindset with integrity and good judgment.
- Patient centricity: understand the patient journey and tailor engagement.
Field – United States – US: $144,500 – $175,100 (annual base salary). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation is determined by experience and performance.
