Full time, 12‑hour shifts

• Search for contraband and provide security.
• Count, feed, and supervise inmates in housing, work, and other areas.
• Provide custody and security, including observation of inmates which may involve long periods of sitting and standing.
• Perform security functions such as person, property, and facility searches, including pat and strip searches which may require squatting and bending.
• Transfer and transport inmates by walking or riding in vehicles; restrain and secure assaultive inmates as needed.
• Respond to emergencies, including climbing stairs, steps, or ladders while searching for escaped inmates, calling for help, giving first aid, carrying injured or unconscious individuals, and applying force. Must be trained in the use of deadly force, including chemical agents and firearms when assigned to an armed post.
• Perform other duties as assigned within capabilities as determined by management.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Prior correctional experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s licence in the state of Texas or New Mexico with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
