The primary purpose of the Electrical Maintenance Technician I role is to provide essential support in the preventative, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance activities for electrical equipment and systems throughout the facility. This entry-level position is responsible for assisting more experienced technicians in performing basic maintenance tasks, adhering to plant procedures, safety protocols, and operational policies.
Key objectives include accurately following work assignments, approved procedures, and supervisory instructions to carry out maintenance activities safely and efficiently. The Electrical Maintenance Technician I plays a crucial role in maintaining the proper functioning and reliability of electrical systems by conducting routine tasks such as component replacements, cleaning, and inspections.
Education and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with electrical systems, tools, or in a maintenance environment
- Familiarity with electrical safety practices and procedures
- Completion of a vocational or technical training program in electrical maintenance, electronics, or a related field is preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and components
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical diagrams and schematics
- Understanding of electrical test equipment and tools (e.g., multimeters, voltmeters)
- Proficiency in using common hand tools and power tools
- EE-98 or EE-98J
- EL-1 or EL-1J

- Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday. 6:30 AM 4:00 PM (Some nights and weekend work may be required). Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed - Travel Required 10%

- Emergency Response Requirements:
Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty is required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week
- Close vision for reading documentation, viewing monitors, and inspecting components
- Color vision for identifying color-coded wires and displays
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders to access equipment
- Ability to work in confined spaces, such as equipment rooms or control panels
- Reaching overhead, bending, kneeling, and crouching to access components
- Lifting and carrying equipment, tools, and materials (up to 50 lbs. or more)

- Perform the duties of a radiation and chemical worker employing sound radiological and chemical work practices to minimize the spread of contamination and generation of contaminated waste and ensure that work is performed in a manner such that the radiation dose received is as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA)
