Summary of PositionThis position is under direct supervision of the Project and Facilities Director. The incumbent will be responsible for plumbing installations and repairs. The lead plumber must be well‑organized, detail oriented, possess good customer service skills, be able to give and follow instructions, and be prepared to travel to clients’ homes to complete work.
Physical Demands and Working EnvironmentWork is performed outdoors. The incumbent will be exposed to typical outdoor conditions. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; using hands and fingers to manipulate tools or controls; lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds and/or moving up to 160 pounds with a hand dolly. The role frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and may expose the employee to electrical shock.
Personal protective equipment, including protective footwear and gear, will be required. The incumbent must have normal hearing and vision (corrected or uncorrected) and must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. The role requires stamina for long hours and overtime, willingness to work irregular schedules which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, or variable shifts, and participation in an after‑hours on‑call rotation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a qualified journeyman plumber issued by the State of New Mexico.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis and sustain prolonged walking and standing.
- 2 years of experience in commercial and residential plumbing.
- Valid New Mexico driver’s license; must meet the Pueblo’s liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check, including FBI, State, Tribal, MVR, and new‑hire drug screening.
