Job Summary
The Water/Sewer foreman position will require management skills of personnel for both water & sewer utility construction. The knowledge and the ability to operate some or all heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, front end loader, and excavators. Must have previous experience in the utility construction field. Must be able to oversee and direct personnel in the water/sewer division, provide direction for day-to-day tasks, complete with reporting on all tasks performed, act as the lead in the water and sewer systems.
EssentialDuties
Is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of the Pueblo of San Felipe Potable Water System, and Sewer System, including but not limited to water mains, water services, water pumps, water storage tanks, all water appurtenances, sewer mains, and sewer services. This includes projects the Water/Sewer Division undertakes using heavy equipment, will also use of a variety of hand tools.
Responsible for the division and personnel implementation, training, certification and overall performance. Responsible for all equipment and tools assigned to the division. Responsible for meeting all EPA requirements and the Clean Water Drinking Act, including sampling and reporting for both systems. Must understand and implement IHS, and any other related specification or plan.

High School Diploma RequirementHigh School Diploma or equivalent to allow obtaining a level 2 Water Certification within 2-years of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Four years’ minimum previous water/sewer experience required. Must be able to assign duties to staff and oversee the outcome of projects, hold staff accountable and respond to emergencies beyond the regular timeframe of working hours. Must be familiar with all types of water and sewer construction projects and Must be able to read and understand plans and blueprints. Must be competent in understanding system requirements, sampling of potable water systems.
Will direct staff on utility construction projects. Will be responsible for learning and adhering to all safety requirements of the department and be required to attend training as needed. - Required

The physical demands require outside work in all seasons and for prolonged periods of Also subject to possible water breaks, sewer main breaks, mud, foul odors. May require driving in variable weather conditions. Requires walking in undeveloped and uneven terrain.
