- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical duties for assigned campus buildings, equipment, facilities, and furnishings, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cement work, HVAC, roofing, and custodial work.
- Assist in preventive maintenance, construction activities, and use proprietary CMMS and energy management software.
- Coordinate snow removal from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snow equipment and chemical spreading.
- Operate, maintain, and adjust specialized equipment and tools such as power washers, blowers, pumps, and electric motors.
- Perform assigned projects, inspections, and routine building maintenance.
- Support event services including meeting, conference, and social event setup and strike; assist with sound, staging, lighting, fencing, waste management, and parking.
- Provide general customer service and respond to inquiries related to facilities operations and events.
- Assist with public announcements, speaker systems, and cleaning of event areas.
- Participate in graffiti cleanup, solid waste disposal, and litter pickup.
- Education:
Graduation from high school or completion of General Education Diploma (GED). - Experience:
Minimum one year of mixed or specific experience performing the essential functions described. - Knowledge: OSHA safety standards related to carpentry, small power tools, and heavy item setup.
- Skill:
Proficient use of power and hand tools, basic mechanical aptitude, and basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook). - Ability:
Follow written and verbal instructions, work both independently and unsupervised, maintain safety and risk management standards, keep operating records, and communicate effectively in English. - Special
Qualifications:
Valid New Mexico driver's license and availability for 24‑hour emergency call‑out.
The position involves both indoor and outdoor work, requiring physical activities such as walking, climbing, bending, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Lifting and moving up to 100 pounds is required. Work may involve exposure to wet, hot, cold, humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather elements. The employee will occasionally attend events that attract thousands of attendees. Periodic travel may be required.
