Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the electrician in various aspects of electrical maintenance, repair, and construction. Your primary duties will include assisting with the preparation and assembly of apparatus, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, the ability to operate various tools, and a commitment to upholding company policies and procedures.
- Support the electrician in executing various tasks related to electrical maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
- Prepare and assemble necessary apparatus required for specific tasks.
- Keep work areas clean and organized by picking up scrap wire, boxes, and other discarded materials.
- Assist with the cleaning of protective equipment, including hot sticks and rubber goods.
- Use various hand and power tools to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
- Assist in loading various materials onto trucks and/or trailers as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of materials and processes required to strip and terminate cables.
- Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing, sitting, crouching, and/or stooping.
- Capability to push, pull, and position tools, equipment, and structural material weighing in excess of 100 pounds.
- Perform electrical testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair on equipment and systems.
- Accurately read and record meter data.
- Maintain electrical records and schedules.
- Wire 120v, 240v, 480v, and low voltage systems.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, PLC/control panel wiring, and the ability to read electrical CAD drawings.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with contractors to provide a high level of customer service.
- Stay updated on current NEC Codes and ensure adherence during all electrical work.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the electrician or supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
