Field Service Technician – Miami, FL

Located in Miramar, FL, the company is seeking a Field Service Technician to conduct engine services, maintenance and inspections throughout the Americas and Gulf of Mexico. The position will support field services of 2‑stroke and 4‑stroke engines and related equipment, providing technical execution, quality delivery and accurate data recording in accordance with established quality‑control procedures.

• Support 2‑stroke & 4‑stroke engine service activities as the lead, shift lead or part of a larger team with rigging, cleaning, inspections, measurements, calibration and mechanical assembly, as directed by the Lead Engineer.
• Lead repair and overhaul of cylinder heads, cylinder liners, C/W pumps, L/O pumps, fuel pumps, FI’s, cleaning C/A coolers and heat exchangers and calibrate other components as required.
• Quantify and record fine metric measurements of OD’s, ’s, thickness, depth, ovality, taper and wear using bore gauges, dial gauges, snap gauges, Vernier calipers, deflection gauges, hardness testers, magna‑flux testers and other common measurement instruments.
• Complete all paperwork including daily time sheets, expense reports, service reports and measurement sheets, maintaining communication with the customer, Lead Engineer or Service Coordinator for assignments.
• Lead pre‑job safety meetings, following all safety requirements and customer safety protocols; deliver toolbox safety talks and shift handover notes and observations.
• Identify and plan all tooling requirements for upcoming work; instruct others in proper use of all tooling, equipment and machines after proper certification.
• Direct and lead pre‑job mobilization, tool preparation, packing, verification of calibration certificates, de‑mobilization and recovery of assets, cleaning, inspection and storage of tools and equipment in accordance with specifications.
• Validate calibration and completeness of all tooling, measurement recordings and inspections; review data for completeness, quantity and quality sufficient for service report documentation.

• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate’s degree in diesel, electronics, welding or mechanical disciplines preferred.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in technical engine or power‑transmission services or other oil‑and‑gas experience may qualify in lieu of a degree.
• Valid driver’s license, TWIC card and passport.
• Willingness to travel more than 70 % of the time throughout the year and adapt to frequently changing schedules and tight timelines.
• Ability to follow QMS, HSE policies and procedures and instruct others in the requirements.
• Excellent customer‑relations skills; ability to keep customers and office informed of job progress and challenges.
• Initiative to work independently and ability to lead a small 3‑5 person team or shift in field‑service activities with minimal guidance.
• Ability to plan a service attendance including travel arrangements, identification of required tooling, technical documentation, measurement forms and resource planning.
• Perform engine maintenance inspections, crank‑shaft inspections, measure deflections, backlash and record/confirm the presence of ovality; perform dye‑penetration and magna‑flux crack inspections.
• Execute proper hardness testing readings, calibrate connecting rods and verify/adjust engine fuel‑pump timing to achieve balanced engine load.
• Organizational and time‑management skills and ability to coach and support the development of team members’ technical skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
