Job DescriptionThe high school head football coach is responsible for the direction and supervision of the football program. Their responsibilities include:
- Planning:
Create practice schedules, game plans, and strategies - Teaching:
Demonstrate techniques, teach rules and regulations, and assign positions - Managing:
Oversee the strength and conditioning programs, and ensure student athletes are eligible to participate - Promoting:
Promote the program through community events, fundraising, and marketing - Supervising:
Ensure the safety of athletes, equipment, and facilities - Evaluating:
Assess player skills and monitor academic performance - Communicating:
Work with parents and guardians, and attend conference meetings - Following rules:
Adhere to all state, regional, and district regulations - Developing:
Develop and evaluate the coaching program - Working with others:
Collaborate with the athletic director, assistant coaches, and other staff - Must have at least 3 years experience as a head football coach
Must have a valid NMPED Coaching License before the season commences. Must pass a district and NMPED background check
