Inventory Control Specialist will utilize the job scheduling system to coordinate and schedule truck loading/discharge for Globalplex operations. The position maintains the inventory system and ensures proper handling of dock and rail documents such as bills of lading, dock tickets, and delivery orders. The role requires effective communication with customers, terminal employees, and management.
Essential Job Functions- Schedule truck appointments through the applicable scheduling system
- Document and input truck and rail tickets in the system
- Review all applicable bill of lading and delivery orders
- Dispatch and organize truck traffic throughout the terminal
- Verify and acknowledge delivery orders for billing purposes
- Communicate with customers and their logistics companies concerning terminal‑based activities
- Coordinate with terminal operations management to ensure accuracy of documents and cargo movements
- Commit to customer service and work in a team‑oriented environment
- Resolve issues directly with customers as they arise
- Collaborate with Terminal Supervisors on loading and unloading of trucks, barges, and railcars
- Multi‑task across phone, computer, documents, and terminal dispatching/scheduling
- Report all incidents through the company's reporting protocol
- Support company safety initiatives
- Demonstrate knowledge of required competencies and efficiencies
- Work overtime and weekends as needed
- Communicate with truck drivers directly and indirectly
- Adapt to performing other duties as required
At least 1–3 years of similar experience in a maritime, industrial, or warehousing environment.
Educational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Incumbent will work in all weather conditions, varying elevations, and moderate‑high noise levels. The work site contains light to heavy equipment and tools. Overtime and weekends are required from time to time. Approximately 8–10 hours per day are spent in the work environment.
Physical RequirementsThe job requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, speaking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. PPE such as hard hats, eyewear, safety vests, and steel‑toe shoes may be required. Work may involve exerting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, or 20 lbs constantly; overhead lifting up to 20–25 lbs; long periods of sitting or standing.
