Salary Range: $17.15 per hour
Reports to:
Head Start Prenatal to Three Director
Position is open until filled. Anticipated start date is 8/19/26.

EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to assist in teaching preschool children in the Head Start program in New Milford, CT. As a Head Start Teacher Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing preschool children with a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Classroom Teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 3 to 5, promoting school readiness in language, literacy, cognition, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts, social emotional skills and physical development.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Classroom Teachers in planning and implementing a wide variety of creative and developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 3 to 5 to promote school readiness across areas of development, including language, literacy, cognition, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts, social emotional skills and physical development.
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with parents to support their involvement in their child's learning and development process.
- High School Diploma
- Ability to develop effective relationships and excellent interpersonal skills with children, families, and co-workers.
- Maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and their families.
- Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
- Ability to position oneself to bend and lift up to 30lbs.
- Arrange classroom furniture based on needs of children and curriculum.
- Six (6) paid holidays.
- State of CT ECE professional development hours provided by Head Start.
