Student Care Worker - Individualized Learning Centers (ILC SCW)
EdAdvance is redefining what a Regional Education Service Center can be using a systemic approach grounded in the "3C's", Connection Culture, and Customization. EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to provide behavioral and instructional support.
Major
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Provide instructional support across general and special education classes
- Implement behavioral prevention and management strategies individualized to student needs
- Collection and on-going maintenance of behavioral data collection
- Ability to assist with hygiene (i.e. toileting) routines
- Proactive and consistent communication with student's school team
- Availability to work specified school hours and attend all required meetings and trainings
- Experience in de-escalation techniques or willingness to be trained
Other duties as assigned by supervising Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
Qualifications:
- Must meet Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) para educator standards:
High School diploma or GED diploma AND Two years of college credit, OR An Associate's (or higher) degree, OR Pass the State Board of Education adopted para education assessment, (Para Pro) which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading, writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instructions of these topics. - Previous experience working in a public school setting
- Excellent professionalism and communication skills
- Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and dependability
- Ability to safely perform physical restraint techniques when necessary
- Must have a valid CT driver's license and maintain active vehicle insurance
