Phillips Farms is a 300 acre, family-operated farm in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. We produce a wide range of fruits and vegetables. We also grow a variety of ornamental plants in our greenhouses. During the summer months, we invite customers onto our farm to pick their own fruit and enjoy a day outside with their families.

• The Floater position is able to perform a variety of roles at our Market, including baking, caring for plants, working on the register, stocking, or helping out at Pick-Your-Own.

• This position is for someone who prefers variety
• You will be trained in several different areas, including baking, gardening, and working the register
• Your schedule will be created in advance, so you will always know which job you are doing before the start of the day
• You will be scheduled as needed across these various jobs
• In the baker position:
  • Complete daily list of items to be baked
  • Adhere to food safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
• Water plants, using the correct fertilizer as needed
• Keep outside/ plant area looking orderly and appealing
• Assist customers in answering plant-related questions
• Ensure plant items are barcoded and have correct price signs
• Keep plants healthy and attractive
• Stocking:
  • Complete required inventories
  • Help restock produce on the floor, communicate with the farm if more produce is needed
  • Ensure quality of any produce items sold at our Market
  • Organize produce coolers and receiving area
• Cashier:
  • Ring up customer purchases, weigh produce, run the cash register, give correct change, and accurately process credit card transactions.
  • Count the money in the register drawer precisely at the beginning and end of the shift and recap all sales/transactions accurately.
  • Be up-to-date on product changes including price, sizes, and types
  • Correctly identify fruits, vegetables, and plants when entering items into the system during a transaction

• Weekend and holiday hours are required
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Able to stand for long hours at a time
• Strong work ethic
• Must be flexible to perform different tasks and adapt to a constantly changing work environment
