We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day invoice and payment operations for a team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a long-term contract position suited for someone who is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable managing invoice workflows in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will help keep vendor payments on schedule while maintaining reliable financial records and supporting core accounts payable activities.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing them for payment.
• Assign the correct accounting codes to invoices and enter payment details into financial records with a high level of precision.
• Prepare and assist with scheduled check runs to ensure vendors are paid within established timelines.
• Maintain organized accounts payable documentation and update records so transaction history is easy to track and verify.
• Investigate invoice discrepancies and work with internal contacts or vendors to resolve payment-related issues promptly.
• Use Microsoft Excel to organize payment data, track outstanding items, and support routine reporting needs.
