Tax Preparer

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join a public accounting team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position focuses on preparing and reviewing a broad range of tax filings for individuals, businesses, and partnerships while maintaining accuracy and compliance with current regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements during busy filing periods.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individual, corporate, and partnership clients with a high level of accuracy.
• Analyze financial records and supporting documents to ensure complete and compliant tax filings.
• Research tax rules and apply current regulations to client situations, identifying appropriate reporting treatment.
• Work directly with clients to gather missing information, clarify tax positions, and address filing-related questions.
• Monitor deadlines across multiple engagements and organize work effectively to meet filing commitments during peak seasons.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities, potential risks, and areas requiring additional review before submission.
• Collaborate with accounting team members to resolve complex return issues and maintain consistent quality standards.
• Support the review process by verifying calculations, disclosures, and supporting schedules before finalization.
