Resident Inspector

We seek a dedicated and experienced Resident Inspector to join our team. This position provides quality control and assurance, measurement, materials testing, and documentation throughout all phases of the construction process. It accomplishes this by observing the contractor's activities during construction. Other duties include adhering to site safety, project plans, and specifications.

Here's What You'll Be Doing

  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
  • Review and interpret plans, testing and sampling plans, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Notify supervisors or other personnel of problems within the project.
  • Develops, maintains, and daily reports, posts logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data, and results of special quality studies for review by lead-level supervisors and higher management.

Here's What You Need

Education

High school diploma required. Relevant and sufficient work experience may be substituted for a high school diploma requirement.

Certification and License(s)

  • Valid driver's license.
  • LADOTD, ACI, and other certifications are a plus.

Experience

  • Over five years up to and including seven years.
  • Heavy Civil:
    Roads, Bridges, Utility, and infrastructure experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of construction principles and methods.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and make professional assessments of work.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand engineering plans and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineering and construction personnel about site activities and project progress.
  • Ability to write clear inspection reports on the condition of projects.
  • Proficient in the use of a tablet or laptop.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to acclimate to project management software or related software.
