Position: F-18 General Mechanic

Boeing Global Services is searching for  
** F-18 General Mechanic
** willing to on 1st or 2nd shift at  
** Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chase, Louisiana.*
* ** This position is eligible for a Stipend payment in addition to salary for eligible candidates.*
* *
* Position Responsibilities:

*
* + Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.

+ Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.

+ Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

+ Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.

+ Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.

+ Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).

+ Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

+ Oversees training.

+ Works under general direction.

** General Mechanic:*
* + Performs end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.

+ Performs coordinated combat turns and hot pit refuels.

+ Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft and related aerospace equipment.

+ Uses technical data to diagnose and address maintenance problems on aircraft systems.

+ Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.

+ Solves problems and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment.

+ Removes and installs aircraft components.

+ Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems.

+ Adjusts, aligns, and rigs aircraft systems.

+ Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.

+ Performs aircraft and component operational checks.

+ Interprets inspection findings and resolves adequacy of corrective actions.

+ Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation.

+ Inspects and operates powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.

+ Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.

+ Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation.

+ Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment.

** Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):*
* + Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance

+ Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds

+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals

** Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):*
* + Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions (Humidity/High temperatures) with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes

+ F-18 (AM or AD) Qualifications

+ Prior experience with Navy 4790.2 requirements, is preferred
