Role Overview
As a Technician supporting spaceflight hardware, you
will help fabricate, assemble, test, and maintain
components and systems used in space applications.
This role combines hands-on mechanical and
electromechanical work with careful documentation
and adherence to engineering specifications.
You will work from schematics, engineering drawings,
and written or verbal instructions to build and support
high-precision hardware. Your work directly
contributes to the quality, reliability, and performance
of spaceflight systems.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
* Fabricate, construct, assemble, and maintain
electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical
components and systems
* Perform composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly
activities
* Assemble precision mechanical components for
spaceflight hardware
* Troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and diagnose
equipment and devices
* Operate machining tools, lathes, CNC machines, and
other related equipment (as applicable)
* Conduct tests and document results in the required
format
* Support engineering teams by performing
experiments and tests in fabrication or laboratory
environments
* Evaluate processes and help identify and isolate
process issues
* Implement experiments, collect results, maintain
logs, and provide written and/or verbal reports
* Monitor process controls, materials, and supplies to
ensure proper function
* Verify quality in accordance with statistical process
or other control procedures
* Communicate process or equipment concerns to
engineers and advise operators as needed
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and/or
processing laboratory environment focused on
spaceflight hardware.
* Work is performed under general supervision
* Tasks require attention to detail and adherence to
engineering documentation
* The pace is steady and quality-driven, with a strong
focus on precision and process control
* Collaboration with engineers, operators, and other
technicians is part of the daily workflow
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1
year of related experience are typical minimums for
this role.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet all requirements listed
* At least 1 year of experience performing technician
tasks on spaceflight hardware in a manufacturing
environment
* Experience assembling precision mechanical
components for spaceflight hardware
* Experience performing composite lay-up, fabrication,
and assembly tasks
* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
and written work instructions
* Ability to work under general supervision
* US Citizen
Desired
Skills:
* Experience performing machining tasks using
mechanical tools, lathes, or Computer Numerical
Control (CNC) machines
* Completion of a technical program at a community
college or a college degree from an accredited
university
* Familiarity with NASA requirements
