This role is in Textron System's Marine & Land Systems business area.
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting design, analysis, test and production operations for marine vessels
- Collaborating with Engineering on desired production tooling and build-plan methodology and giving input/feedback on associated design criteria; analyzing engineering design to determine manufacturability of components and assemblies
- Guiding and determining manufacturing processes, tooling methodology, discrete manufacturing operations and associated time standards to be used to produce new parts/assemblies from detail component fabrication thru job-level installation; authoring and maintaining process plans for shop floor methods/work instructions
- Developing learning curve and actual hour projections for new program production incorporation; analyzing actual performance and making necessary process improvement recommendations
- Overseeing process to create manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to break engineering product structure into logical manufacturing methodology and sequence to enable MRP processes for order release, scheduling, and purchased component sourcing activities
- Providing technical guidance to initiate and drive Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) on production issues related to engineering design, material, tooling, specifications and processes
- Analyzing/Interpreting engineering drawing, manufacturing operation sequence, tooling function, and process specifications
- Ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Two plus years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role or related field
- Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Software programming skills and experience with Solidworks or other 3D modeling programs are desired
- Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with peers, supervisors, customers and management both externally and internally to the organization
- Ability to identify problems, resolutions and consider options inclusive of drawing conclusions and recommending the best course of action
- Demonstrated ability to focus on details and multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
