Position: Engineer (Technical Solutions)

Engineer (Technical Solutions)

Entergy Power Through is an energy resilience service that offers sustainable backup generation solutions to commercial and industrial customers at a discounted rate. The discount is created by offering generator power to the grid during peak demand times. We partner with external Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partners, manufacturers, and internal teams to create a unique offering for our customers. The Engineer, Sr.

(Tech Solutions) serves as a senior technical lead supporting the development of Power Through microgrid and distributed generation solutions for commercial and industrial customers. This position is highly customer‑facing and is responsible for developing technical scope, advancing system design, conducting engineering reviews, and providing expert guidance throughout the proposal and project development process. The role focuses on real‑world constraints—including cost, reliability, and schedule—and requires deep expertise in low‑ and medium‑voltage power systems, distributed energy resources (DER), and generator-based backup power applications.

The Engineer, Sr. (Tech Solutions) serves as a technical lead in developing Power Through solutions for customer-facing proposals, technical scope, and customer engagement for large/complex applications. This role focuses on microgrid and distributed generation systems, designing under real-world constraints of cost, reliability, and schedule. This is a highly applied, customer-facing role for engineers with a strong foundation in electrical power systems.

The Applications Engineers will lead technical discussions, conduct site visits, and evaluate single-line diagrams and system layouts, while clearly communicating complex concepts through structured documentation and analysis. This position will work closely with the Power Through Sales & Project Management teams, Power Delivery and EPC contract partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead applications engineering efforts for complex customer proposals, including developing system architecture, equipment sizing, technical scope, and solution strategy.
  • Evaluate and value‑engineer electrical system designs, including single‑line diagrams, layouts, interconnection approaches, and medium/low‑voltage configurations.
  • Perform advanced power system evaluations (load, capacity, reliability) and apply modeling tools to support design decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, EPC partners, R&D, product teams, Power Delivery, and the Power Through Sales & Project Management teams.
  • Prepare high-quality technical content for proposals—drawings, narratives, system analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Assess design tradeoffs across cost, performance, constructability, reliability, and schedule.
  • Lead and participate in site visits and customer engagements to validate design assumptions and gather critical technical details.
  • Conduct senior-level technical peer reviews and ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of engineering deliverables across the Power Through portfolio.
