What You'll Do (Summary of role)

The IT Technical Support Specialist/Security Administrator will handle internal customer support for the Audubon Institute's Information Technology Department. Responsibilities include assisting with the IT network, personal computers, servers, and related tasks. This role also oversees and ensures the security of the organization's computing systems and programs.

Day to Day Responsibilities (Limit to most important/top 10 duties if possible)

• Providing Quality Support:
Deliver high-quality support to staff to meet their IT needs effectively.

• Support Requests:
Respond promptly to support requests and ensure timely issue resolution.

• Technical Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve PC issues, connectivity problems, and system errors for the Audubon Nature Institute.

• Hardware Administration:
Install, repair, and optimize printers, hardware components, and related devices.

• Security Administration:
Administer FortiEDR, Forti Mail, virus scanning programs, phishing/email security, and ensure PCI compliance.

• System Performance:
Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as needed.

• Procurement Support:
Create quotes and orders for IT equipment and software.

• IT Project Execution:
Develop and execute plans for assigned IT projects.

• Training and Compliance:
Participate in training sessions and adhere to safety, privacy, and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).

Maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Must Haves: (required for the role)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing PC's and networks. 2 years' experience in computer security.

• Virus scanning administration

• Email security and data protection administration

Nice-to-Haves: (preferred for the role)

• College degree in Information Technology or equivalent

• A+ or similar preferred.

• Common network operating systems

• Common network hardware (including cabling, hubs, switches, and routers)
