The Maintenance Engineer at Wyndham Garden Baronne Plaza plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of the hotel's physical infrastructure and facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to guarantee guest comfort and safety. The role requires proactive identification and resolution of maintenance issues to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
The Maintenance Engineer collaborates closely with other departments to support hotel operations and uphold the high standards expected in the accommodation and food services industry. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall guest experience by ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role within the accommodation or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in engineering, facilities management, or a related discipline.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Certification in safety standards such as OSHA or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a hotel or large accommodation facility.
- Basic knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to provide timely and effective solutions.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of tools and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies to maintain a safe working environment for staff and guests.
