Job Title:

RN Clinical Director

The RN Clinical Director leads the nursing department by developing and implementing strategic, financial, clinical, and operational goals. The role ensures optimal patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective staffing.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and revise nursing policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Plan and supervise operations of nursing across all programs for a 24‑hour operation.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation (TJC, CMS, DHH) and state regulations, maintaining “survey ready” status.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, including documentation accuracy, compliance with the Journey of Excellence program, and infection prevention.
  • Collaborate with medical leadership to coordinate clinical care delivery.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate nursing staff. Develop staffing schedules and manage staffing levels.
  • Provide ongoing education, in‑services, and professional development for nursing personnel.
  • Assist with strategic budgeting, forecasting expenses, and controlling operational costs.
  • Participate in growth initiatives to expand and improve nursing programs.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience in healthcare.
  • Minimum 15–20 years of nursing experience as an alternative to a Master’s degree (WJMC).
  • Enrollment in a Master’s Program with completion within 2 years.
  • Valid state nursing license or temporary permit in Louisiana.
  • American Heart Association BLS-HCP certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Non‑Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI, NCI‑CPI) certification within 90 days of hire.
Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, state nursing code, and standards of practice.
  • Effective management, delegation, and operational budgeting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Reporting Relationships

Position formally supervises nursing staff.

Functional & Physical Demands
  • Light physical work: occasional lifting up to 100 lbs, walking, standing, and occasional climbing.
  • Keyboard use and communication continuously throughout the workday.
Population Served
  • Adult patients (16 years and older). Neonate/Infant and Youth populations not served.
