Job Description:

Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team" where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position with Ochsner Health, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur.

You should not apply for a role at Ochsner Health if you are not comfortable with the above.

Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. Patients:
Supports patients for all major surgical services. Unit Supports all surgical/procedural populations with exception to patients requiring critical care services. Special Procedures/Unit Details:
Regional anesthesia, ECT. Nurses care for pre op, Phase I and Phase 2 recovery, pediatric and adult population. This department providers pre/post op care to patients in a total of 34 OR's on 2 floors. The 1st floor MHSC has 6 OR's, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, as well as preps/recovers cases for CT/MRI. This section has high volume of pediatric patients.

The 2nd floor surgery setting has 28 OR's and services cases from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and pulmonary lab. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre op and phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.

Special Equipment:
Hoyer lift, Bladder scanner, Accuvein

Preferred candidate will have background in PACU or Pre/Post Op experience

PDF format AHA certifications are required AWHONN Intermediate is required for L&D RNCPI required for all CNAER nurses must have CPI, or be able to get it before start.

This cert is somewhat difficult to get, so please be prepared for this. NURSYS Reports for RNs must be sent with profile. Please ensure that the NURSYS is up to date (within 4 weeks of submission date). Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from Ochsner Health System for 1 full year before they can return as travel.
